Libya is waking up. Its people have seen the examples set by North African neighbors and are beginning to find their voice, absent in the face of a brutal dictatorship for so long.

Late in the afternoon of St. Patrick's Day in 2009, I walked into Bryant Park, which is located behind the New York Public Library, between 41st and 42nd Street, facing Avenue of the Americas. There were a few drunken revelers (most of whom looked like high-school kids from New Jersey), and several people basking in the sun. I concentrated mostly on the latter...

Comrade Luis was recruited to the Less Rain cause by a travelling officer who came to his hometown in Spain, distributing candy and pamphlets.
Luis was put into a proleteriat re-education programme, taught creative programming at Midlessex University and urban-jungle survival techniques to prepare him for a future career dodging double-decker buses and job offers in London.
Comrade Luis satisfies his nostalgia for violence, underage sex and the black market with extensive internet surfing, which also incidentally keeps him up-to-date for Less Rain on the newest on-line trends.
